Schipperke Tobacco & Trade Cards

These cards were used by cigarette, tobacco and dog food companies.

They date from 1901 through 1970.

This very nice card was issued by Sanders Brothers,Custard and Jelly Crystals,in the UK in 1926 as one of their 20 card series entitled "Dogs". It has printed text on the reverse relating to the breed.It measures 2.75 inches by 1.5 inches approx.

 

This is a very rare original card from the 1912 set of 50 cards issued by Cope Brothers and Co. and illustrated by the famous artist Cecil Aldin R.B.A. The set is entitled "Dogs of the World". Printed details relating to the breed and some brief details as to the artist Cecil Aldin on the reverse.

Issued in the UK by Irish tobacco company Gallaher Ltd. as part of their 1st series 'Dogs' in 1936. Breed description on the back.

Belgium and Dutch Trade Card 1930s This card was issued in Belgium and Holland during the mid 1930s, and were used by many small businesses i.e. Bakers, Butchers and Confectionery shops as an advert card. The same image appears on the front while the back may have various different adverts. The manufacturers produced a special album for these cards to be housed in which was titled 'Honden' - 'Dogs'.
